(The ski slopes at Pré la Joux, shown on map, afford easy access to the Avoriaz complex, have good beginner slopes and ski schools and plenty of parking. The journey, which is very beautiful, takes about 10 minutes by car.  Ski buses go back to Chatel village from here).

By Plane - nearest airport - Geneva.  Flight time approximately 1 hour 40 mins. Try Easyjet for cheap flights www.easyjet.com .  From Geneva, you can either hire a car or arrange to be picked up (at extra cost). The journey to the chalet takes approximately 1 hour 20 minutes.

To drive from Geneva - head down to town centre and the lake and drive along the south side of the lake to Thonon - N5.  From Thonon, take the D902 to Morzine, after approximately 10 km, take the first exit at the big roundabout - D22 to Abondance and Chatel.  Go through Chapelle d'Abondance and carry on towards Chatel.  After about 2 km, there is a turn off to Pré la Joux on the right - do not take this -  continue straight on to Chatel but be ready to turn sharp right into a small entrance after about 100m.  You will see a distinctive chalet with red and white windows on your right.  Continue down this narrow road and you will reach Chalet Bienvenue on your right after another 100m.

By Car - (939 km)

The journey is fairly straightforward and takes approximately 10 hours from Calais, (excluding stops).
