Portes
du Soleil Ski domain
Châtel
is one of the 12 resorts that join to make the Portes du Soleil, which
claims to be the largest linked ski area in the world. The
skiing is fantastic, with something for everyone, from easy green runs to
the infamous black run - The Wall.
Start
in France in the morning and ski over to Switzerland in the afternoon. You
can visit 12 French and Swiss resorts including the picturesque
Morzine; Morgins with its breath taking views of the Dents du Midi;
Avoriaz with its snow park - or the lesser known Champery and Les Crosets.
These resorts
comprise part of the Portes du Soleil domain with over 650kms of piste, snow parks,
over 270 lifts, and many superb mountain restaurants. The Portes du
Soleil ski pass covers all these areas. Access to Avoriaz is quick and easy
from Pre la Joux, which is a 10 minute journey by car - click here
